Subject: Safety Procedure Update
Date: 16 April 2004

To my respected colleagues,

After the dreadful events of last week, I wanted to reach out to all our teams dealing with research projects, just to get everyone in the same page before any more blood is spilled unnecessarily.

We are updating every team's safety procedures, and a detailed review of the courses followed up with the relevant exams is mandatory within any team dealing with Altered Aspects of Reality (AARs).

Atention! We will be checking on the exam scores through July and anyone that finishes their reviews before the system's schedule suggested date OR scores above 90% will get extra 30min added to their pool of Personal Hours for future use through the year of 2004.

On the other hand, non-completion of the safety courses' reviews or non-compliance with the new safety rules will result in immediate removal of access to our physical installations, equipment, or resources, including company software.

Please keep in mind that non-compliance to safety procedures determines grounds for formal warnings at the very least, and depending on the case, non-compliance can classify immediate termination of your contract, and even result in severe legal implications, as we all know.

Folks, you know that they don't fool around with requirements upstairs, let's get shit done efficiently and keep our focus on the amazing work performed so far this year. We should all be proud of our quarterly results, as it is incredible how much we got done since the MIS foundation started their joint investment with our government branch.

I must point out, though, that as our projects develop, so does increase the risk of our work, dealing with what we do.

Altered Aspect evolution research is dangerous enough as it is, so let's all be smart and carefully follow safety procedures to mitigate hazards and minimize chances of work related injuries; that way, we don't have to create any more elaborated stories for the life insurance companies, press, or family members of hurt or deceased members of our staff.

We all know how things go regarding disclosure of information to the public when it comes to workplace related injuries, specially accidents inside the lab areas or during field trips. Our stakeholders are not taking any chances when it comes to health and safety precautions, as we really don't need the extra attention that comes with lives lost in chocking, unconventional fashion.

On that note, our prayers and thoughts go to the families of the excellent Mr. Holmes and the team members present on lab 31A during the manifestation of the major Corrupt Aspect that took their lives. It was a sad conclusion to one of our most important breakthroughs since we started dedicated Altered Aspect research teams.

Even though we know the stakes at risk, none of us is ever quite prepared to live and endure that sort of situation, so let's take the lessons learned and do our best to never let that sort of failure eat through our ranks again.

There is no nice way to put this: we are being warned that messing up like that again will impact all our jobs and might cost our lives.

I am counting on all of you to keep this place as safe as possible.

Ps.: our update of the internal Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System implies that teams which need to conduct mitigation strategies regularly will need to re-certify every staff member on the Workplace Hazard Mitigation course, not just their Health and Safety Representative.

Examples of teams that need to re-certify every staff member with our new Workplace Hazard Mitigation course include, but are not limited to:

- Containment;

- Decontamination;

- Deep Diving (including all former Controlled Exposition team members);

- Research;

- Response;

- Scouting;

Please reach out to your team's Health and Safety Representative if you have any questions.
